LTM France has been founded in 1960 and was initially producing windings, transformers and converters.

In 1970, when OSRAM introduced the new HMI lamps, LTM became the first manufacturer in the world to provide ignitors and magnetic ballasts to allow the use of those lamps, and at the same time, started to manufacture the HMI lighting fixtures.

LTM was the first company to work closely with the lamps manufacturers and launched its first range of products to replace the obsolete arc fixtures by the daylight Fresnel lighting fixtures: the LUXARC 200W to 18KW.

Thanks to its first-mover advantage in this market, LTM was able to open a subsidiary in Hollywood as soon as 1976 and introduced the HMI technology in the U.S.A. In June 2007, LTM received an award for its 30th anniversary of presence in the U.S.A. during the Cine Gear Expo in Los Angeles, this award acknowledges the reputation of excellence LTM has.
